From Melbourne CBD: the separated cycle path along Footscray road is easiest. The busiest part of Footscray road west of the Maribyrnong river can be avoided by snaking along Parker street/Bristow Street/Albert Street. |
1. Around back of cafeteria via the south side where the caterers park their van. ID access. 2. Resident’s quarters – Top level via lifts next to ICU, requires walking bike through hospital. Undercover racks on the roof of the hospital, probably best accessed from Eleanor street near ED. |
No lockers available Several showers available in resident’s quarters, accessed via lifts next to ICU top level and then via rooftop. Belongings can be kept in Anaesthetic Registrar Room |

From Albion station there aren’t many good options, St Albans road has a narrow bridge and some bike path but is quite busy and dark at night. An alternative may be to take Gilmour road and then backstreets, or the ring road bike path to the hospital. |
1. Undercover external bike cage located under education building near Majorca St entrance. As of July 2022 still accessible despite construction works. ID access. 2. Rear of Joan Kirner, not undercover, rarely frequented. |
Sunshine No lockers available. Shower in theatre changerooms or Sunshine Resident’s quarters located in the old paediatric ward, level 2 between Sunshine and JK hospitals (follow transit route signs). Belongings can be kept in Anaesthetic Office. |
Joan Kirner Lockers available. Shower in theatre changerooms or Sunshine resident’s quarters |

From Footscray road Hyde street leads down to the Bay trail and then backstreets could lead to the hospital. |
No dedicated bike parking, could probably lock up in the courtyard between the hospital and the café. |
No lockers available. Shower in theatre changerooms. Belongings can be kept in Anaesthetic Office. |
